When told to make a wire sculpture of something embodying the autumn and fall theme the first thing that came to mind was a pumpkin. In my mind, a pumpkin is a good representation of fall because everyone has carved a pumpkin for Halloween or gone pumpkin picking sometime during their lives. Essentially, when one sees an image of a pumpkin the first thing that comes to mind are the bitter cold fall afternoons and copper leaves falling off of trees. Within my sculpture, I used space to represent outward curvatures in the pumpkin, I also used movement by having all of the wires meeting up at one point right where the stem of the pumpkin meets the body. I am overall pleased with the outcome of my pumpkin were sculpture, however, I do believe that it would look better if the wires leading up the side of the pumpkin and to the stem were more aligned creating more of a sense of symmetry.
